Healthy Kids and Green Parenting Fair
Learn how to protect your child from toxins in the environment, and find resources to help you make safer choices. Services and activities include free blood lead testing for children and pregnant or nursing moms, free lead testing of toys and other consumer products, safer toys and personal care products, natural yard care, organic foods, cloth diapers, free eco-friendly art supplies for kids and a babywearing fashion show at 11 a.m. Fantastic prizes from ERGO Baby, Sleepy Wrap, Earth Mama Angel Baby, Happy Heinys, Hotslings, BabyLegs, Lapsaky, BellyFish, FuzziBunz, and more! Held at the South Park Community Center in Tacoma.

Family Read-Aloud
Celebrate Family Read-Aloud by picking up a packet at any Timberland library, beginning on Dr. Seuss's birthday (March 2) and ending on Drop Everything and Read Day (April 12). Read every day as a family, and put a sticker in a room on the printed house (included in the packet) where you read -- the idea is to read all over the house. Keep track of the books you read, and you'll be eligible to win a suitcase full of Scholastic books and other book prizes. Entries must be received by a Timberland library staff member by closing time on Saturday, April 11.
